CORRECTIVE JAW SURGERY

Straightens or realigns your jaw & corrects related skeletal deformities that patient needs. The following conditions may prompt a need for orthognathic surgery:

  • Birth Defects
  • Chronic jaw or jaw joint (TMJ) pain
  • Involuntary mouth breathing
  • The inability of your lips to come together without straining
  • Trauma or injury to the jaw or face
  • Open bite (space between the lower and upper teeth when the mouth is closed)
  • Protruding jaw
  • Receding lower jaw and chin
  • Tumor or pathology affecting the jaw

Corrective Jaw Surgery may be a corrective option if you have jaw problems that can’t be resolved with orthodontics alone.  In most cases, you also have braces on your teeth before surgery and during recovery after surgery until curing and alignment are complete. Your orthodontist can work with your oral, jaw and face (maxillofacial) surgeon to fix your treatment plan. For Jaw Straightening consult with our Doctor.
